While joining the bonds group on this forum, a pop-up asked me «Why would you join this group ?»
I just answered «Parce que ?»
Though it put a psychological barreer that would have stopped me to go further if I was not here at the event…
Do you think this pop-up is necessary ?

These are work groups. The membership request is to ensure that WG members have a say about who’s getting in. So I guess the barrier is working as wanted.
