Upcoming OFFDEM

There’s no upcoming event scheduled.

If you want to organize an OFFDEM event you should propose one.

OFFDEM @supporters

We like the OFFDEM Manifesto and support OFFDEM!

Join this group to receive OFFDEM notifications.

If you’re not planning on attending OFFDEM but are interested, this is your starting point. Of course, if you don’t like the Manifesto, you probably have no business being here.

If you’re an organization and want to help with OFFDEM, sending stickers, providing any kind of support, please get in touch with the @infodesk or join @team right away.

OFFDEM @participants

This group comprises the people who participate in the ongoing OFFDEM edition. It receives announcements and local coordination and requires less involvement than the organization group.

If you are not present on premises, you should rather use OFFDEM Supporters to follow the event.

:eye: OFFDEM is a self-organized event, so everyone is expected to participate. If it’s your first OFFDEM you have to… not just watch. :eyes:

OFFDEM @team

OFFDEM Team group members work on the definition and preparation of the current edition of an intersectional festival of collective practices & free technologies production.

OFFDEM Team details

Members are involved in advance to the events to take care of logistics (including catering, hosting, partnerships, funding, invitations, visa oversight, printing of communication materials, etc.), publishing the Call for Presence, managing volunteer teams to ensure proper setup before the gathering, well-being during the event, and teardown after the fact, online and offline communication, etc. The details are described in https://oxygen.offdem.net/pub/howto-organize-an-offdem-event.

O₅F₂FDEM is open to people willing to help with this work.

In order to request membership, please send a motivation email to team@offdem.net stating your vision for OFFDEM and how you can help with the organization.

Hi,
it’s my first FOSDEM this year and I heard about OFFDEM these days. After attending FOSDEM yesterday and reading in this forum this morning I think OFFDEM would fit better.
After viewing some livestreams and recordings of FOSDEM during the pandemic I would attend this big gathering. But its to big, crowded and overwhelming for me. Sometime it feels a bit like a commercial mass event with people from big companies and not as a community event for good. I would like to discuss about challenges like how to build and maintain public infrastructure that respects users rights (for example privacy preserving). What could be approaches for (small) companies or institutions in the public sector to contribute to it (e.g.: public money, public code)?

How can I get in contact with you?

Too bad you didn’t come to OFFDEM.
The problems you identified are some of the reasons OFFDEM was launched in the first place.
You can still find us at the location.

Yes,
I will travel back tomorrow. How are the hackspace(s) here. Can you recommend one?

Ah, I thought you are still around.
I leave back home tomorrow early morning, so maybe someone else who is from around here could point you somewhere.

I updated the upcoming page to invite people to organize another one. I also started a draft for https://oxygen.offdem.net/t/past-offdem-0x05/581.
