Every year we create dedicated OFFDEM visuals in addition to the already existing ones (linked at the top of this post), feel free to propose material that can be used for printing posters, make your own posters or anything that you think relevant.
Here is a mash up of what has been proposed in the past years
I’m not comparing : just saying we shouldn’t stop talking about any people shelled with bombs, that’s it. May that be Palestine, Kurdistan, Ukraine, Sudan or Yemen.
What I’m hinting at is that using flags may not be the best approach. And if you copy “Don’t stop talking about …” then you’re reducing the message wrt Palestine. The ICJ judgement for South Africa vs. Israel is not as successful as South Africa would like us to think. In practice, it changes nothing. It didn’t say: Israel is genocidal. It said: Israel should care that its soldiers take extra precautions when dealing with their military operations. This is tame at most.
For Palestine I was looking for a picture of this Palestinian woman intervening at the UN sometimes in October or November. She spoke so well, but I did not keep a record and could not find her.
Of course it is. I hate state flags and I certainly don’t want to make any poster with any single one of them. I was really disappointed at the last demo against the genocide in Palestine bc the organizers decided to carry South African’s flag by the side of the Palestinian one. But I refuse to say that we should stop talking about Ukraine. We should keep talking about it with all the caution and critics required.
I don’t think I say that we should stop talking about Ukraine. I simply stated that Ukraine and Palestine are not comparable. I’m glad you don’t like using flags. Maybe I should redo it without the flag.
